Now it is time to harness THz frequencies due to their unique property. THz enables miniaturized and/or mobile wireless devices with novel innovative applications in areas such as imaging and localizing cells in our vessels and organs by miniaturized THz receiver arrays, recording body and even muscle movements or detecting plant and insect interactions by miniaturized THz radars, detecting and locating bacteria and viruses in our environment or local or even global atmospheric gas composition by miniaturized THz spectroscopy, mapping or testing materials in our environment by mobile THz reflectometry, transmitting data at extremely high rates or connecting a sheer multitude of IoT devices. ICMMTS focuses on these novel, perhaps still largely unknown applications with all their new and various scientific challenges. Contributions from universities, research institutions, companies, visionaries and lateral thinkers are welcome to make smart dust through THz a reality.
